At first, the Chi seemed the best choice. However, before clicking the button, to order it, the Sedu 1 entered the picture.The main features, which won me over, were the plates. They are made of a ceramic/tourmaline mixture. This is similar to the, too pricey for me, Bion. The Sedu gives you control of the temperature on your hair. But, the original Chi has a set temperature. It is uncertain whether this iron will do "no damage" to my hair... as the box claims. However, the Sedu box does say the iron produces more negative ions (which is a positive thing!) than ordinary ceramic irons. This probably helps the claim of "no damage" to hair. After using the Sedu, the performance has been pleasing, so far. Initially, there was concern about steam coming off my hair, after the iron passed-by. On the other hand, the results are truly what I had only dreamed of getting.
